Hip Flexor Release Chicago

Introduction:

The Hip Flexor Release Chicago consist of iliacus, psoas major, pectineus, sartorius, and rectus femoris. They are responsible for moving the leg forward at the hip joint. The three major muscles that move the hip region to the front of the body are all grouped together in one location. The psoas major, iliacus, and the abdominal muscles cover those three muscles.

The Hip Flexor Release Chicago release is a technique that can be helpful to anyone experiencing pain or discomfort at the front of the hip area as well as those seeking to improve their flexibility. However, it should not be performed by someone with any serious knee disorders. Instead, they should focus on exercises that strengthen the hip muscles.

The technique can be performed in a number of positions including sitting, standing, or lying down with the knee bent.

Precautions:

Anyone who has serious knee disorders should not perform this technique but rather focus on exercises that are more beneficial to them. Additionally, it is not recommended for anyone with a muscular or skeletal hip disorder.

Directions From Hip Flexor Release Chicago :

The Hip Flexor Release Chicago is a technique that can be performed in a number of positions including sitting, standing, and lying down with the knee bent. The following instructions will focus on performing the technique while seated. Simply cross the leg to be worked on over the other leg.

Bring the arm on the side of the uppermost leg behind the head and place it lightly on top of your head. Do not pull on your neck with this arm. This will be your support arm so you can allow yourself to relax into it as you lean back slightly.

Pushing, or causing movement, at the knee will not be effective with this technique. The key is to focus on relaxing the muscles that are being used while at the same time applying gentle, steady pressure to the leg.

Slowly shift your weight forward toward the front of your chair until you feel a light stretch in front of your hip joint. Keep most of your body weight over your pelvis rather than leaning forward toward the leg.

Hold this position for sixty seconds and then lean back slightly into your support arm to release the stretch gently. You may wish to repeat the stretch once more after releasing it.

Arthritis is a disease that affects over 50 million Americans. Most people by the age of 85 will have some type of arthritis which will most likely be in either the knee or the hip. Arthritis affects the cartilage of your joints and the pain occurs mostly from wear and tear. Wear and tear to the joints causes cartilage to erode off and leaves your joints rubbing together, which causes painful inflammation. This condition is worsened by the tightening of the tissues, loss of strength in muscles near the affected joint, and altered movement due to issues with a range of motion. If you are struggling with Arthritis, you should contact your doctor for Hip Flexor Release Chicago at Free Body Physical Therapy.

Symptoms/Causes of Arthritis:

Symptoms of Arthritis include pain, stiffness, swelling, redness, and decreased range of motion. Arthritis has two types which are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis which involves wear and tear damage to your joints cartilage which was mentioned earlier. This condition can occur slowly over many years, or it can be accelerated by joint injury or infection. Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the lining of the joint capsule which is a membrane that encloses all of the joints. Risk factors for arthritis include family history, age, gender, previous joint injury, and/or obesity.
